Energy Efficiency and Decarbonisation
Overview
This call falls under the Climate and Energy Transition Incentive System and aims to support operations that promote the reduction of energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions,this is achieved through the replacement, adaptation or introduction of low-carbon equipment, processes and technologies, complemented, where appropriate, by the integration of renewable energy sources.
Support is available for operations implemented under both the General Scheme and the Contractual Investment Scheme (RCI), where projects are deemed to be of particular relevance to the national economy due to their structural or strategic impact on accelerating the climate transition.
Beneficiaries
General Scheme:Companies of any size;
RCI:Large companies.
Application Period
Phase 1 (General Scheme): until 27 February 2026;
Phase 2 (RCI) until 30 December 2026.
Eligible Expenditure
- Optimisation and replacement of equipment and production processes with high energy performance;
- Electrification of processes and replacement of fossil fuel-based equipment with electric solutions;
- Energy management, monitoring and control systems;
- Heat or cold recovery, industrial symbiosis initiatives and technological modernisation;
- Interventions in buildings leading to proven improvements in energy performance;
- Complementary integration of renewable energy sources for self-consumption;
- Studies, diagnostics, energy audits and certifications required to assess reductions in energy consumption and emissions.
Nature, Form and Aid Intensity
Support is granted in the form of a non-repayable grantbased on eligible actual costs.
Under the General Scheme the maximum co-financing rate is 85%.Under the RCI aid intensity is defined within the scope of a specific negotiation process,while remaining fully compliant with the applicable maximum aid limits.
In all cases, support may not exceed €30 million per company and per project.
