ClarkeModet Portugal, Arosa I+D (ClarkeModet Group), and Frederico Mendes & Associados (FMA) have entered into a collaboration agreement to provide innovative organizations in Portugal with an integrated service that combines industrial and intellectual property management with specialized advisory in innovation funding, grants, and tax incentives.
This partnership strengthens the capabilities of both the ClarkeModet Group and FMA in Portugal, expanding their value proposition across the entire innovation lifecycle. Under this agreement, ClarkeModet clients will gain access to FMA’s expertise in funding and tax incentives, while organizations working with FMA will benefit from ClarkeModet’s extensive experience in the protection, enforcement, and monetization of intangible assets such as patents, trademarks, data, and know-how.
Additionally, the agreement will enable FMA clients with projects in Spain to access the services of Arosa I+D—ClarkeModet Group’s specialized company in innovation funding and tax incentives—and vice versa. As a result, both firms extend their coverage across the entire Iberian Peninsula.
An alliance to turn innovation into value
FMA is a Portuguese consulting firm with nearly two decades of experience in innovation funding and tax incentives, having supported around 3,000 projects and mobilized €1.2 billion in investment. Its “Small by Design” philosophy reflects a strong commitment to talent, long-term relationships, and tangible results.
ClarkeModet, in turn, is the leading group in the comprehensive management of intangible assets in Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking markets, with a presence in 13 countries, more than 600 professionals, and multiple business lines dedicated to supporting innovators at every stage.
Arosa I+D is the group’s specialized company in grants and tax incentives. Together, the group serves more than 24,000 clients worldwide and manages over 10% of international patents and trademarks filed in Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries.
María Cruz García, Country Managing Director of ClarkeModet Portugal, stated that “this alliance strengthens our ability to turn our clients’ innovation into results. FMA’s expertise and on-the-ground knowledge will enable our clients to access specialized support to fund and maximize the value of their R&D projects—an essential step for the success of their innovations.”
Manuel Díez, Managing Director of Arosa I+D, emphasized that “the three companies share a common goal: to provide coordinated, rigorous support tailored to the technological realities of each country in the Iberian market. Our teams bring highly complementary perspectives and proven experience in managing grants and incentives—key elements for companies looking to scale and sustain their projects.”
Frederico Mendes, Managing Partner of FMA, added that “partnerships like the one we are establishing with ClarkeModet strengthen and expand our ability to support innovative companies and organizations. By integrating funding, tax incentives, and intellectual property management, we help organizations compete more effectively in an increasingly demanding market.”
Through this alliance, ClarkeModet, Arosa I+D, and FMA establish a fully integrated collaboration focused on supporting R&D and facilitating access to combined solutions in funding, taxation, and intellectual property—enhancing competitiveness in an increasingly demanding technological landscape, where intangible and digital assets play a growing strategic and economic role.
